Sticking to a Schedule

Shelf is finished and ready to be moved to the new house.  I stuck that red tub on top to see how the colors looked together.  I like it.  Whatever toys do not fit in the shelf and the red tubs, will be packed away in a rubbermaid container.  When Ada and John get tired of the current toys, I will switch them out with the ones in the rubbermaid bin.  I really have to stay on top of the toy situation, or we will be buried underneath piles of toys in the new house.  I am trying to be proactive.

So, car is cleaned, shelves are painted, and toy bins are bought.

Today, with Ada's birthday party coming up on Saturday, I am tackling laundry and the kitchen.  What does that mean?  Well, the new house has only two small closets.  Our current house has 5 large closets--big change.  So, we have to store winter clothes when not in use and vice versa with summer clothes.  So today I am doing laundry all day while simultaneously packing up clothes that are not currently in use.

I will also be packing anything in the kitchen not currently in use, so the boxes going over tonight will be unused clothing and kitchen items.  And by unused, I just mean not a necessity over the next three weeks.  The more I get out of here, the cleaner it will be for Ada's party on Saturday.

Okay, here goes...

I love the shelf! I think you will find it to be sanity-saving. We have onw in Wyatt's closet, and I couldn't live without it. You are right, its nearly impossible to keep things catergorized-- but as long as the toys aren't all over the floor, it doesn't matter :) thanks for keeping us up to date on everything- I can't wait to see pictures from Ada's party!

LOVE the shelf!! It looks great! Sounds like you are a cleaning/purging/organizing fiend these days. I was thinking of getting Ada a lunchbox and thermos for her bday. Don't wanna give you more toys to deal with. Does she already have a lunchbox or a bookbag?

I love the robins egg and red together! I think you are smart to go in with a plan. I am praying for the transition for you guys! Sometimes we all need a reason to purge, how do we accumulate so many toys???

Thought of you while reading today...
"for you have need of endurance so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised ...we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed but of those who have faith and reserve their souls.." Hebrews 10:36/39
Persevere my friend you are learning beautiful things from the heart of God right now..
