Photography Question

Okay all you photographer types out there that might be reading this, I have a question.

The Moore family is scheduled to have our first ever family photo session in the next few weeks, and I am wondering what to wear. Is there something that photographs better than others? In my head I am thinking a black wrap dress. It just seems like black is the best choice. Is this true? Or could I go with a more "creative" outfit?

And because of the beautiful fall colors, I think Ada will be wearing the dress from the last post for a more dressy photo, and a fall brown and green polka dotted jumper for the more casual family photos. The session is mainly about her, but we will be getting a few family shots as well.

Seriously, any wardrobe advice is much appreciated. There is a dress at Gap that I am contemplating buying. It is on sale and I have a coupon, and really, who couldn't use a black, wrap dress? This is the weird thing. It's on sale, B1G1, which is bizarre to me. Who buys two of the same dress? Even in different colors? So, if any readers want to join me in a trip to Gap, maybe we could work something out with that deal. However, we would then having matching dresses. This is a very strange deal, Gap, I have to say.

Okay, I'm including myself in this "photography" types group. If you do want the focus on Ada, I think it would look nice if you and Scott both wore darker colors. It would make Ada in her colored dresses pop against the dark of your clothes. Would probably make great colored or black & white pics! But with such a cute family, anything would look great on you guys! :)

Hey, oooh, I love this kinda stuff - personally, I would wear fall colors and try to coordinate outfits amongst the three of you...especially if you're going to be outside in leaves. See my friend, Dawn's blog a/b their late summer photoshoot:

I tend to agree with lamm... I would wear darker colors - maybe something brown-toned for fall. You don't have to both wear black. I would also show your personality a little! So, wear a solid color but throw in a great chunky necklace. Have fun!!! I am dying to see the results...

I'll go in on the dress w/ you. I'd have to go to GAP to try it on to see if it worked, but usually I can wear their clothes. I'm in desperate need of stuff to wear to church. Send me the link of the dress. When does the sale end?

Um, let's see. I take pictures and I think that it always helps if the thing that you are taking a picture of pops against the background that you have. I think that black would go very nicely depending on where you are taking pictures...but black would go with pretty much anything. I LOVE Ada's dress and it is so totally fallish! LOL Yeah, I think that black works...but you could also wear fall colors...IDK! Just make sure that it will pop! :)
